I Want: Sex and the City

A long time ago (2 years) in a galaxy far far away... I had this friend borrow my season 1 & 2 Sex and the City DVD's. I've given up ever seeing those sets again... so I need some replacements:

Proof

We just saw Proof... what a great movie. Gwyneth Paltrow should get another Oscar. Anthony Hopkins was also incredible. Wow. It was really good. Go see it.

Pearls are cool and Jackie O's pearls were the coolest... so I want some. But I'm sure there is a waaaay cheaper knock-off of these pearls somewhere...

WTF? Ethan Embry Edition

I just caught the last half of this show, Numb3rs, on CBS... Ethan Embry was a guest star and damn, did that boy get buff. When did that happen? I'm so used to seeing him skinny & kinda dorky (think Empire Records) that I didn't even believe it was him. It's like when Anthony Michael Hall showed up in Edward Scissorhands... crazy.

Loving: Madonna Tagging Project

This is cool. Madonna.com has started a project to "build the largest photo archive ever devoted to a single subject: Madonna!" There are over 1400 images already. People can contribute by sending them any image that they don't already have... I think I'll leave that to the people who have time to go through all 1400 images to begin with. Go see it:

I Want: Yoga Toes

I have this issue with my pinkie toe... it likes to curl under my other toes. Especially when I wear close-toed shoes. Since I live in the Extreme Weather Land that is Ohio, open-toed shoes are only an option a few months out of the year. I tried to solve this problem a few years ago by "re-training" my toes with that little foamy toe seperator you use for pedicures. It worked for a few days but then I lost one of the toe seperators and the other one fell apart, so I gave up. I eventually got new ones but they were cheap and didn't help at all. But I think this might be the answer to my toe's prayers:

Test Product: L'Oreal Color Pulse

Every once in awhile I just have to try out a new product I see at the store... so I thought I'd pass along my opinion about some of these products. The first Test Product... L'Oreal Color Pulse Concentrated Color Mousse in Iced Coffee.
Color Pulse is a concentrated color mousse that allows you to create vivid, intense color that washes out it only 8 to 10 shampoos. This month, black! Next month, red!
For starters, my hair is already naturally red... sort of a browny-blondy red. A stylist once told me that my natural shade is the most requested fake shade around. So, I certainly have nothing against my hair. But it's fun to change it up once and awhile... I'd been eyeing up Color Pulse so I picked up a can last night at Walgreens. The Iced Coffee shade is a deeper red than what I normally have:

I was hoping for the darker of the two shades. The product was surprisingly easy to use and there was an unbelievable amount of mousse in the little can. The directions reccommend using 2 cans for really long hair... my hair is down to my shoulder blades and one can was more than enough. So, you wash & towel dry your hair, apply the mousse, massage it into your hair, hang out for 30 minutes and rinse. I found it to be just as easy as that. It was hard to tell when my hair was wet but when I woke up this morning, my hair was definitely a deeper red then before. Think Grace from "Will & Grace" red. The color is lovely & very even... this might be my new fall color. I love it. I'd rate it as my number one at-home hair coloring experience.

America's Next Top Model

The last line of TWOP's recaplet of last night's ANTM episode pretty much sums up what I was thinking:
But alas, Kyle was really and truly sent back to the DQ, because being tall and gorgeous and having a great body and actually looking like a model is a detriment to you on this show. Bitches.

Hating: A Few Things

1. Band-aids... Particularly the 12 I've had on my right middle finger in the last 2 days. Why can't one just stay on for more than 2 hours?

2. The USPS... what's up with my mail, yo? I gave them a weeks notice to start forwarding it. One week after the start date, it was still showing up in my apartment mailbox. Then it just stopped all together. Then I got 1 piece of mail... and then 1 more. That's 2 pieces of mail in 7 days. And neither piece of mail was my Domino magazine.

3. Spyware... yeah, i didn't want to get anything done today anyway. So it was the perfect day to spend 3.5 hours trying to rid my computer of evil adware.

4. Caribou Coffee... thanks for the wrong pastry this morning, idiots. Really started my day off right.

What a crappy day.

Inspired By: Thomas O’Brien® Console

Another new regular (hopefully) post... this will include some of the many, MANY things I see that inspire me in my own projects. Or, at least, add new potential projects to my ever-growing list. Hee. This console that I spotted at Target is the inspiration piece for my new TV cabinet:

I have an old TV cabinet (I'll post a picture in the near future) that I hope to customize w/shelves & maybe a drawer or two to make it more functional. It's not the exact same style but I think I can make it work... and it was free!

I Want: Buri Bead Bracelet

I'm starting some new regular posts... this one is called "I want" and there's a couple of reasons for it:

(1) to keep track of where I find these objects
(2) just in case people want birthday/holiday gift ideas
(3) just in case people want random gift ideas
(4) just in case I win the lottery
(5) for fashion/style inspiration

First up:

Coming Soon...

Looks like two of my most anticipated new movies will be coming to the Cedar Lee in the next couple of weeks:

Capote starts October 28 and Shopgirl starts November 4... right about the time when I'll actually have time to go see movies.
